Georgia Aquarium field trip

Dear Parents,

The third grade is planning our yearly trip to Atlanta on Friday, May 8, 2015.  This year, plans are being made to go to the King Center and the Georgia Aquarium.  The Georgia Awarium opened in November 2005 as the world's largest aquarium.  With over 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water, and more than 100,000 animals representing 500 species from around the glove, we're sure to see things we've never seen before!

We've estimated the cost (admission/transportation) to be $50 per student.

We realize this sounds expensive.  This is why we will provide the opportunity to pay as you can, provided that ALL money must be turned in no later than Friday, April 10, 2015.

This is an invaluable opportunity to enhance and expand your child's knowledge in the areas of Science and Social Studies.

In order to reserve your place at the aquarium on May 8, we need to know if you are allowing your child to attend.  Parents (no siblings) are welcome to accompany us on this field trip (parent/guardian cost is $55 and is also due by April 10).

PCES Family Reading Night

Please join us for our First Annual Family Reading Night.  We will have opportunities for you to read and take AR tests with your child, make Oobleck, and learn about Reading Apps.  Come and discover all the places your child can go by reading a book.

A sack dinner (hot dog, chips, and drink) will also be provided!

There will also be a book swap.  Please bring in a gently used book from home that you would like to exchange for a different book.  Only students that bring books will participate in the SWAP.  This will be in addition to the books being given away, and is optional.

Rotary Reader

Last Friday, Lauren's dad, a member of the local Rotary Club, came to read to our class.

He shared an inspirational story of famous athlete, Cam Newton, and his perseverance, hard-work, and great attitude.  We're so glad you came.
